At the foot of the Mátra and Cserhát mountains, in a picturesque environment, the Sofia Szeretet Farm and Guesthouse awaits those looking to relax all year round.
The house is located in a nearly 1-hectare beautiful natural setting, offering a stunning panorama where peace and proximity to nature are guaranteed.
The specialty of the farm is the friendly animal community, whose residents are used to human proximity, so they gladly welcome petting and attention. Peace and quiet await guests, and there are not even any neighbors.
The real farm atmosphere is provided by geese, ducks, turkeys, various chickens, and guinea fowls.
We provide the opportunity to feed the animals.
Our accommodation is child-friendly, but not dog-friendly. Thank you for your understanding!
About the House
The guesthouse is a perfect choice for those who want to enjoy the tranquility of nature without giving up comfort. The house has been completely renovated, ensuring peaceful relaxation and a stunning view. Downstairs, there is a living room with an open-plan kitchen, a TV, and a bathroom. The panoramic view from the house is fascinating. In the bedroom, a comfortable 180×200 double bed provides space for a peaceful night’s sleep. Even if you feel like spending the whole day in the guesthouse, you won’t be bored, as unlimited internet and a smart TV guarantee you won’t miss the latest episode of your favorite series. The house’s adjustable air conditioning ensures the ideal temperature for you. The terrace is completely private, hidden from prying eyes.
In the well-equipped kitchen, you will find everything you need to prepare dinner if you don’t feel like going to a restaurant or ordering food. You also have the opportunity to bake delicacies in the gas pizza oven on the terrace, or roast over an open fire or cook in a cauldron at the fire pit in the garden.
THE KITCHEN
The kitchen is fully equipped: fridge, hob, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, sandwich maker, cutlery, glasses,
plates, and pots are available for preparing a light lunch or dinner. If you prefer to prepare delicious bites outside, there is a Blackstone pizza oven and grill on the lower terrace, and a cauldron fire pit in the yard. We naturally provide the wood and the necessary equipment for the latter.
BATHROOM
In the bathroom, a shower, a washbasin, and a toilet serve the refreshment of our guests. Bathrobes, towels, toiletries, and a hairdryer are of course provided.
A sauna and an outdoor jacuzzi in the guesthouse ensure complete relaxation.
Child-friendly Accommodation
The Sofia Szeretet Farm and Guesthouse is a truly child-friendly accommodation where even the little ones are awaited by meaningful and experience-filled recreation. The nearly 60 tame small animals of the farm – including dwarf goats, alpacas, sheep, bunnies, a pony, guinea pigs, and cats – can be met up close, allowing children to discover the world of animals in a playful way. In addition to the safe, spacious environment, a playground, trampoline, ping-pong table, play corner, and skill games ensure carefree fun, and a bouncy castle can be requested upon demand. Meeting the animals not only provides an unforgettable experience but can also contribute to strengthening children’s empathy, sense of responsibility, and emotional development, so every member of the family can return home recharged.

The Guesthouse can also be booked for 1 night.
Our prices include the tourist tax (IFA) and the cleaning
fee, as well as the unlimited use of the sauna and jacuzzi.
The price includes breakfast.

The price includes the exclusive use of the house and its territory, bed linen, bathrobes and towels, coffee capsules and various teas, as well as the cleaning fee.
Booking process:
– mark the desired date in the calendar below (first and last day of stay) and provide the requested basic details, then send the request. It is enough to provide the details of one person who manages your booking.
– we will review the incoming request, and if everything is fine, we will contact you.
– after contacting you, we need to record the details of all arriving guests; for this, we will send a document scanner link or a simple text entry interface. If you don’t want to bother with this, we will help you record the details.
– we will inform you about the amount of the deposit after contacting you (depending on peak periods, events, etc.). You can settle the accommodation fee by bank transfer (Chandran Anetta, OTP 11741024-24151997) or in cash. To be paid in advance: 50%. The booking only becomes final upon receipt of the amount.
Cancellation is free up to 14 days before arrival, 100% of the advance payment will be refunded. Within 14 days before arrival, or in case of a no-show: the advance payment is non-refundable.

Sofia Szeretet Farm and Guesthouse
The specialty of the farm is the friendly, tame animal troop: the nearly 60 residents – including dwarf goats, sheep, alpacas, emus, ducks, geese, chickens, tame dwarf rabbits, a pony, guinea pigs, and cats – all gladly welcome petting. The accommodation is especially ideal for families with small children. The direct, safe contact with the animals not only provides an unforgettable experience but is also proven to help children’s emotional development and empathy while having a calming, therapeutic effect.
For children’s entertainment, a playground with slides and swings, a sandbox, a trampoline, a ping-pong table, a play corner, and various skill games are provided, and even a bouncy castle can be rented upon request. Those who want to break away from the everyday rush and constant screen time can refresh themselves with guided singing bowl meditation* and coaching*: the 20-minute singing bowl* relaxation is followed by a 30-minute personal coaching conversation ( *upon prior request ).

Sulyomtető Lookout Tower and Trianon Monument in Bátonyterenye
The Turul monument with extended wings towering over Bátonyterenye immortalizes an important symbol of the Hungarians. The well-kept attraction standing on the hilltop is easily accessible, and from the statue, there is a beautiful view of the settlement and the surrounding landscape.

Piszkéstető Observatory
The Piszkéstető Observatory in the Mátra is Hungary’s largest and most significant astronomical research station. The institution is home to the country’s largest telescope with a 1-meter mirror diameter, with which professionals have been conducting outstanding international astrophysical observations for decades.
Mátra Mineral House Museum
The Mátra Mineral House Museum in Mátraszentimre presents more than a thousand domestic and international minerals, as well as exciting fossils. In addition to viewing the exhibition, visitors can enjoy interactive programs such as a working demonstration lapidary, a UV darkroom, gold panning, and guided mineral collecting tours.

In the forests of the Mátra, many well-marked, gentle nature trails and walking paths that can even be explored with a stroller await families with small children, such as the Cincér nature trail in Sástó or the path leading to the Ilona Valley waterfall.
